Happy Anniversary!!
Today is my 18th wedding anniversary. This is where I was 18 years ago. Ugh!! I miss Paris!
My wonderful fiancee (at the time) planned a fabulous honeymoon without telling me. We visited Rome, Venice, Paris and Amsterdam. We had an amazing time. We took soooooo many pictures. I even made him take off his shirt and stand on a broken pillar in the Ruins of Rome so I could take a picture of my Roman God. LOL. He was such a good sport.
We thought our honeymoon would be the first of many trips abroad. But, life had plans of its own. That's ok, we've had a wonderful 18 years. We had 4 amazing kids, and too much fun to even remember all of it.
Maybe we'll get to go back in 2 years for our 20th anniversary. If not, maybe on our 25th.
We'll get back there someday.
I wouldn't trade one day with my hubby for all the trips in the world.
Thanks hubby, you Rock!!

Feeling Blue

I guess I'm feeling blue.
Oh, not in a bad way or anything.
Just really feeling the color blue.
Maybe it's because we can finally see blue skys after 2 entire weeks of gloomy weather. (totally out of the norm for us spoiled southern Californians.)
Maybe it's just because it's summer and I love, love, love, the ocean and sand and shells and pearls.
Anyway, I'm feeling blue. We'll see how long it lasts.
Hope you like my new banner.

Cupid's at Work!

My baby went on her very first date tonight!
Oh, it's so bittersweet. I am so excited for her. She's all butterflies. "I told her to hold on tight to that feeling. Life goes so quickly. Cherish every moment."
O.K, Here's the scoop: He's adorable. He's terribly shy. She had to ask him out. He said "I'd love too."(how sweet!) When he got here tonight he told her she looked beautiful. (Ohhh!!) I think I might actually have said that out loud! I hope not. Then I told daddy to give Audrey money (she did ask him out after all). That's when this darling, well trained boy said "I'll pay for Audrey". (Ohhh!! again) I'm pretty sure I just thought it that time. I hope. He also shook daddy's hand.
Hubby and I both agree that he had to have been coached. Thank you to whomever coached him, you did a great job.
My family members are kinda freakin out. But, you know what, I know my daughter. She's a very responsible girl. She tells me everything. Also, I remember what I was doing at 16. O.K, I don't want her to do any of that but, I DO want her to have a little bit of fun. I'm going to be sending her off to college in 2 short years. She needs to learn how to be independent a little at a time or college is going to be really hard to adapt too.
Anyway, I just wanted to share all of my ooey-gooey mommy moments from tonight. Cherish every moment you've got with your little ones. Time goes so fast.
Thanks for listening.

Show Me Your Crown

The lovely Andrea from Vintage Bella Studios is hosting a wonderful "Show Me Your Crown" party. Go on over and she has lots of links to other amazing bloggers who will show you their crowns too.
These are some of the details on the side of this crown.
I love the colors. Yummy!!
How could I resist? But, I just didn't have time to create anything new. So, I'll just have to "show you" two of the crowns I had lying around. I hope you like them. Here it is from the front. Our weather has been overcast for a few days so it's not easy to get a super picture.
Another little detail. I love this butterfly and the Rhinestones attached all over.

This is another of my chicken wire crowns but in a totally different color scheme. I found these old woven strips at the swap meet. They are only about 6inches long. I think they look nice folded over and glued into a fan shape.
Add a little bling and some mother of pearl buttons and lots of old lace and voila.

Well, there you have it. I hope you liked them. This was so much fun. I can't wait to check out what all of the other artists crowns look like. Thank you Andrea.

Yeah for Summer Fun!!

Yeah for Summer!!
It's finally here! Well, not technically but, we're out of school, so it's summer for us.

First stop: Target

Look at all the great stuff we got in the dollar section. Buckets, bubbles, pails, sand tools, squirt guns, pool toys, beach balls and can't forget candy.

We're almost ready. Now we've got to get our summer bag packed and loaded in the car. The little league equipment just came out. Time to load a washable sturdy bag with water bombs, beach tools, goggles, snacks, etc. Everything for a quick trip to the pool or beach.

One problem: The weather! Ugh!

Everyone keeps telling me it's just June Gloom. No. It's too cold.

So, my poor kids, we can't go to the beach or the pool, and the free movies haven't even started yet. We are having a little bit of a slow start to our summer fun. That's o.k, though, we are always so buys it's kinda nice to slow down.

Oh yeah, here's a little something I've been working on. They are so much fun once you get the hang of it. I am totally addicted. I've made so many I've just about run out of crepe paper. Obviously I need to get better lighting at my work station but, I think you can see how adorable they are.

Have a super summer.
